MIL Names New COO’s as it Realigns Business Units to Federal Civilian and Defense Practices
BOWIE, Md.—July 23, 2018—The MIL Corporation (MIL), a mid-sized federal government contractor, announced today that it has realigned its corporate structure under two business units: Federal Civilian and Defense. Marisa Daley, MIL’s current Chief Operating Officer (COO), will lead the civilian business unit, while Ed Greer will serve as COO of the defense practice. Greer returns to MIL after working as a consultant for the Department of Defense (DoD) for several years.
This realignment is necessary due to MIL’s continued growth. Recognizing the different requirements of diverse portfolio demands, the newly defined business units allow MIL to better respond to opportunities and further define customer relationships.
Daley has spent the past four years re-energizing MIL’s brand and leading business strategy as COO. In her new role, Daley will focus on MIL’s support of the federal civilian space, directing overall operations while continuing to lead several corporate support functions.
Greer, who served as MIL’s COO from 2013-2016, will return to the organization after working as a DoD consultant. A former Deputy Assistant Secretary for Development, Test, And Evaluation at DoD, he holds 34 years of government career experience. Greer will oversee operations and business development for the defense business unit.
“Marisa and Ed hold considerable experience and expertise, and I look forward to seeing them guide MIL under these newly defined civilian and defense umbrellas,” said President and Chief Executive Officer, Maurice I. Long, Jr. “Our organization has continued to grow on all fronts – number of customers, number of employees, number of contracts– almost any other significant metric I can think of. This new leadership will undoubtedly strengthen relationships and solutions for our clients as well as internal operations.”
