The Washington Post Names MIL a 2022 Top Workplace in the D.C. Area
Government Contractor ranks 10th for large companies
Bowie, Md.—June 21, 2022— The MIL Corporation (MIL) is pleased to announce its recognition as a Top Workplace by The Washington Post for the Washington, D.C. area. Receiving the 2022 honor marks the sixth year in-a-row for the mid-sized government contractor. This year, it ranks 10th in the large company group. MIL also received the Top Workplace honor nationally (USA) and ranked 7th among large businesses for the state of South Carolina this calendar year.
Selection is based solely on employee feedback gathered through an anonymous third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC, which measured several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection.
“This year, we really leaned into providing continued flexibility for our workforce,” said MIL COO Marisa Daley. “We learned so much from remote working over the course of the pandemic, that we have tried to fold in new best practices as it pertains to productivity. Seeing and hearing that our team is happy with our daily operations means the world and encourages us to continue to grow alongside our employees in our ever-evolving workplace reality.”
MIL’s employees, who provide innovative cyber, engineering, financial, and information technology services to the federal government, reported that common, admirable qualities found within MIL included diversity within the workforce, a family-oriented atmosphere, and notable support of professional development.
“MIL provides an open and fair community with multiple paths, including the ability to grow quickly within MIL,” said an MIL respondent.
In one section, employees were asked to openly respond to what makes them stay with the organization.
“My team and manager are exceptional; they are hardworking, talented, and supportive,” noted one respondent. “The company as a whole really focuses on their employees and that is very important to me.”
The Washington Post has been awarding local organizations for nearly a decade, aiming to recognize companies that cultivate support, respect, and employee satisfaction. The list is comprised of 200 of the highest ranked companies, which came from a pool of 518 surveyed.
