BOWIE, Md.—April 3, 2023— The MIL Corporation (MIL), a mid-sized government contractor, is pleased to announce the addition of Leslie Taylor to its Defense Business Unit. Taylor joins MIL as a Vice President & Executive Advisor, supporting business operations in the Southern Maryland (SoMD) community.
Effective immediately, Taylor is responsible for providing direct services to MIL customers and assisting leadership with developing and executing its Defense Business Unit’s strategic growth plan. MIL has had a presence in the SoMD community for over 40 years, guiding and supporting mission critical work at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD).
“MIL is excited to bring Leslie’s extensive executive leadership, strategic planning, and test and evaluation skills to our Defense Business Unit,” said Tom Clark, Executive Vice President. “Her strong sense of community, diversity, and inclusion coupled with her passion for NAVAIR, NAWCAD, and our Nation’s warfighters success is an excellent fit with our core values here at MIL.”
Taylor holds over 37 years of service in naval aviation. Prior to her retirement from federal government service, Taylor served as the NAVAIR Vice Commander, where she facilitated critical naval aviation decisions among numerous flag officers and senior executives. She oversaw fleet force advisors in planning, implementing, and optimizing investments to advance operational capabilities across the command.
In her role as the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Executive Director, Taylor led over 10,000 employees while overseeing all aspects of technical and business operations. She spearheaded a major organizational overhaul to enhance and increase effectiveness of NAWCAD’s mission execution.
Earlier in her career, Taylor served as a flight tester, weapons integration expert lead on F-35, Warfare Analysis Director, and Director of Flight Test Engineering. In these roles, she worked to create national award-winning test and evaluation training programs. Taylor developed naval aviation capabilities-based test and evaluation methodologies, which are still being applied today.
Taylor holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the West Virginia Institute of Technology and a M.S. in Engineering Management from the Florida Institute of Technology. She recently completed her Diversity and Inclusion certification with Cornell University.
