On September 20, 2024, The MIL Corporation proudly participated in the Girls Global Academy (GGA) College and Career Day, an event designed to inspire and guide young women as they explore potential career and educational pathways. The day was filled with impactful conversations and opportunities for the students to envision their futures.
MIL’s involvement in the event is part of our ongoing commitment to give back to the communities where we live and work through MIL CARES. We have long supported Girls Global Academy, aligning with their mission to foster leadership and learning pathways for young women. This partnership underscores our shared belief in empowering girls to develop the confidence and skills needed to succeed in their chosen paths.
Alongside Sonya Holland, MIL VP Rhonda Cadogan set up a table where students could engage directly with our team. We highlighted the wide range of career opportunities at MIL, especially for those pursuing the Academy’s engineering, business, and STEM tracks. These discussions aimed to show students how their educational background could align with future roles at MIL, offering a glimpse into our industry and the exciting prospects it holds.
The energy and enthusiasm from the girls were contagious. They were eager to learn about the pathways available to them and expressed excitement about the diverse possibilities within MIL and the broader industry. Witnessing their ambition and drive reinforced our commitment to supporting organizations like GGA that work tirelessly to cultivate the next generation of leaders.
Girls Global Academy is an all-girls public charter high school in Washington, DC, and an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. Its mission is to create an environment where girls can navigate the world with confidence and compassion, equipping them to succeed in any post-secondary endeavor. With a curriculum focusing on engineering, business, and other STEM fields, GGA prepares young women not just academically but as global citizens capable of leading and influencing change.
As a long-time supporter of GGA, MIL is honored to contribute to their mission. We remain dedicated to fostering a space where students can gain real-world insights, build meaningful connections, and feel empowered to pursue their dreams. Through initiatives like MIL CARES, we continue to collaborate with organizations that share our vision for a future led by confident, capable, and compassionate young women.
