Longtime employee, Adam Ptack to lead Southern Maryland Business Sector
BOWIE, Md.—Oct. 20, 2015— The MIL Corporation (MIL) is pleased to announce the appointment of its new vice president of Engineering and Technical Services (ETS), Adam Ptack. Ptack, a Southern Maryland resident of 35 years and an employee for over 17 years at the mid-sized government contractor, will take the lead on company-wide efforts geared towards advancing MIL’s foothold in the defense arena.
With over 25 years of Department of Defense, IT and program management related experience, Ptack will drive MIL’s technical approach in developing work and pursuing contract opportunities within ETS. His new role will also include program management support, multi-sector business development, and new market support. Ptack assumes these responsibilities as former ETS Senior Vice President Bill Dunkin has moved to retirement.
“Adam is an invaluable asset to MIL,” said MIL President and Chief Executive Officer Maurice I. Long, Jr. “MIL has been in business 35 years now, and Adam has contributed to a large part of that growth. In addition to growing up in Southern Maryland where a large part of our ETS work is done, he knows this company inside-and-out having worked in several areas of our business. These experiences give him a unique view on our current ETS offerings and a specific understanding of potential growth opportunities that focus on the needs of our target market. We look forward to seeing Adam perform in his new role.”
Prior to embarking on his new role leading ETS, Ptack was a member of the MIL Corporate Business Development Team. He led the implementation of a corporate-wide business development tool to include developing, testing, and deploying the software and customizations. Further, he served as the lead in the design, implementation, and support of MIL’s internal information technology network, cloud storage and email system for over 650 employees.
“It’s an honor to take on more responsibility within the organization and I look forward to guiding the advancement of MIL’s business initiatives,” said Ptack. “Growing my career within this organization has definitely given me a lot of perspective regarding relationships and opportunities between MIL and its customers. I look forward to cultivating those ties for years to come.”
Ptack holds a Bachelor of Science from Frostburg State University and a Master of Science in Information Systems.
