MIL is set to participate in annual summit focused on the current state of federal financial management systems initiatives and implementations
BOWIE, Md.—January 6, 2012— The MIL Corporation (MIL) will be attending the 2nd annual Association of Government Accountants (AGA) Federal Financial Summit as an exhibitor and sponsor on January 10, 2012. The Washington D.C. event will host both federal and private sector financial managers and executives.
The Federal Financial Summit is meant to address the near-term and future prospects of federal financial management systems in a budget-constrained environment. Several MIL managers and vice presidents will be in attendance to represent MIL and take advantage of the numerous learning and networking opportunities.
“I’m really looking forward to attending the summit,” said an MIL Vice President, Linda Glasco. “There will be a lot of great discussion about the future of financial management systems and solutions to current issues. These systems are changing so quickly and events like these keep us all on top of modernizing our processes to be as efficient as possible.”
MIL Senior Assistant Vice President, Harvey Weiner, will also present at a morning session on the topic of improving the sustainability of federal financial management systems. This talk is derived from Weiner’s recent participation in a working group assembled by the Industry Advisory Council (IAC) at the request of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The group worked together to uncover solutions to issues surrounding agency financial system modernization programs.
The summit’s agenda consists of an update from the Office of Management and Budget, a briefing from the U.S. Department of the Treasury, presentations by Customer Control Boards, perspectives from federal and private sector financial leaders, and case studies.
Following the Federal Financial Summit, a report will result on the current state of federal financial management systems initiatives and implementations.
The 2012 AGA Federal Financial Summit will take place on January 10, 2012 at the Washington D.C. Convention Center. To learn more, visit their Web site at https://www.agacgfm.org/publications/agatoday/112111/fss.aspx .
