MIL Named a 2020 Top Workplace in the Washington-Area and South Carolina
BOWIE, Md.—June 17, 2020— The MIL Corporation (MIL) has been named a Top Workplace by The Washington Post for the Washington, D.C. area as well as in South Carolina by Greenville Business Magazine, Columbia Business Monthly, and Charleston Business Magazine. MIL has received a Top Workplace award four years in-a-row in theWashington-area and for the second time in South Carolina.
Selection is based solely on employee feedback gathered through an anonymous third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC, which measured several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection.
“Now in its seventh year, The Post’s Top Workplaces list continues to highlight the companies that are leaders in the Washington-area in terms of employee engagement and satisfaction,” said Washington Post Top Workplaces editor Dion Haynes. “We had a record number of employees participate in the survey this year, making it clear that these organizations have made cultivating an atmosphere of support and respect a priority.”
MIL’s employees, who provide innovative cyber, engineering, financial, and information technology services to the federal government, reported that hard work was rewarded, opportunity for growth was abound, and training options were plentiful. One employee commented on loving their job, stating, “(The) Open door policy for ideas and considerations. I’ve never felt unable to voice an opinion or speak to management.” Many employees commented that their work environment also felt like family.
“We are so honored to be a Top Workplace at both of our corporate locations,” said Marisa Daley, COO. “This year has been challenging for so many in the industry with the current health crisis, but I am proud to say that we haven’t had to initiate any layoffs due to COVID-19, in addition to being able to sustain and accommodate employees’ work-from-home transitions, all while helping them thrive on a daily basis. We work hard to make sure our team knows their value. It is an honor to hear they love MIL as much as we love them.”
“In times of great change, it is more important than ever to maintain a connection among employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “When you give your employees a voice, you come together to navigate challenges and shape your path forward based on real-time insights into what works best for your organization. The Top Workplaces program can be that positive outcome your company can rally around in the coming months to celebrate leadership and the importance of maintaining an employee-focused culture, even during challenging times.”
The full list along with additional content will run in print in a special Top Workplaces magazine on October 14 and will be available on The Post’s site. The Washington Post will also host an awards ceremony in October to recognize the 200 top-ranked companies.
