MIL to Represent The Patuxent Partnership at CyberMaryland 2017 Conference
Discussing cyber capabilities that protect U.S. warfighters
BOWIE, Md.—Oct 4, 2017— The MIL Corporation (MIL) will be among three companies selected to represent The Patuxent Partnership (TPP) at this year’s CyberMaryland 2017 Conference. The CyberMaryland Conference is an annual event sponsored by the Federal Business Council to bring together leading members of government, industry, and academia to network and share information critical to the Nation’s cybersecurity posture. This year’s two-day event, themed “Leading the Cyber Generation,” will be held at the Baltimore Convention Center on October 11th and 12th, and will feature nationally recognized speakers and panelists on cyber and technology innovations. Also on this year’s conference agenda is an Industry Showcase, Job Fair, and the CyberMaryland Challenge, a time-trial event in which participants are asked to solve as many cyber challenges as possible within a 1-hour period. Challenges are designed to test entrants’ skills in both cyber defense and offense in areas ranging from Log Analysis to Live Exploitation.
For the Industry Showcase portion of the conference, TPP invited MIL and two other affiliated members to join them in hosting a technology booth (Booth #411) to demonstrate and highlight some of the cyber technologies and expertise being developed and cultivated in the Southern Maryland industrial base. Headquartered in Southern Maryland, TPP is an organization whose sole purpose is to bring together representatives of government, industry, and academia to collaborate on science and technology initiatives of potential interest to the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and the broader Defense community. The TPP organization also supports workforce development in the Southern Maryland area, including ongoing education and professional development efforts. TPP’s own participation in the 2017 conference was coordinated by Maryland’s Department of Commerce.
Referring to MIL’s participation at this year’s conference, MIL Senior VP Larry Hollingsworth stated, “We’re always excited to discuss the important cyber work being done in Southern Maryland, especially when it supports and protects our Warfighters.” Hollingsworth, a 19-year veteran of the Navy’s Senior Executive Service, currently leads MIL’s Cyber Services Sector.
