The Washington Post Names MIL a 2021 Top Workplace for D.C. Area
Government Contractor is honored for the fifth year in-a-row
Bowie, Md.—June 21, 2021—The MIL Corporation (MIL) is pleased to announce its recognition as a Top Workplace by The Washington Post for the Washington, D.C. area. Receiving the 2021 honor marks the fifth year in-a-row for the mid-sized government contractor, ranking 10th for large businesses. The organization also received the Top Workplace honor nationally (USA) and for the state of South Carolina this calendar year.
Selection is based solely on employee feedback gathered through an anonymous third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC, which measured several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection.
The Washington Post has been awarding local organizations for eight years now, aiming to recognize companies that cultivate support, respect, and employee satisfaction. The list is comprised of 200 of the highest ranked companies, which came from a pool of 413 surveyed.
MIL’s employees, who provide innovative cyber, engineering, financial, and information technology services to the federal government, reported that common, admirable qualities found within MIL included open communication, a pride in serving their country, and flexibility.
“Since my retirement, I work part-time for MIL,” said an MIL respondent. “The company is very flexible regarding ‘working from home’ during this time. As a part-time employee, I am treated as a valued team member and always encouraged to keep learning.”
“In a year that provided many opportunities for internal, corporate growth amidst a global health crisis, it is comforting to know we offered our team a place of great stability,” said Marisa Daley, COO. “MIL is very proud to have evolved with the times as an organization. We are continuing to discover and implement new ways to offer our employees flexibility and work-life balance as we move forward, learn, and adapt to a hybrid mindset.”
