The Washington Post Names MIL a 2024 Top Workplace the Greater D.C. Area
Government Contractor ranks 12th for large company subset
Bowie, Md.—June 21, 2024— The MIL Corporation (MIL) is pleased to announce its recognition as a 2024 Top Workplace by The Washington Post for the Greater Washington, D.C. area. This honor marks the eighth year in-a-row MIL has received this designation. This year, MIL ranks 12th in the large company category. Under this ranking, MIL also earned five Culture Awards from Top Workplaces including: Leadership, Innovation, Compensation and Benefits, Purpose and Values, and Work Life Flexibility.
The Top Workplace list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage LLC.
“We are honored to receive this award and proud to be recognized as a Top Workplace by The Washington Post for another consecutive year,” said President, Marisa Daley. “This consistent recognition underscores our commitment to fostering an environment that is professionally exciting and offers opportunities for growth at any stage in one’s career. We deeply value supporting our employees’ successes and well-being, believing that when our team feels respected, supported, and empowered, they can achieve remarkable success, both personally and professionally.”
MIL has taken decisive actions to support our employees based on recent survey data. Team members expressed an interest in more training and development, and in response, MIL is rolling out a company-wide mentoring program, which has had great success during its preliminary phase. Additionally, the company is ramping up its employee individual development plans by implementing quarterly touch points with their supervisors. MIL also offers in-house online training boot-camps and leader-camp trainings to boost knowledge and prepare for certification tests. To better support its supervisors, MIL will continue supervisor training and has also built out intranet pages to provide comprehensive training resources for managers. To support newer employees, the firm is currently increasing training and certification opportunities through the initiatives mentioned above, with an increased focus on veteran employee resource group resources.
Operating under four services areas –cyber, engineering, financial, and information technology, MIL’s employees deliver a comprehensive range of services to the federal government. In this year’s survey, employees across all business units have consistently rated the organization highly for its efficiency and the transparency and awareness demonstrated by its leadership.
“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That’s something to be proud of. In today’s market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That’s paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”
