What were you doing before joining MIL?
Prior to joining MIL, I was an HR Manager for a federal contractor that provided security guards to various government agencies.
Why did you decide to join MIL?
I decided to join MIL for the opportunity to work in a larger organization.
What are you working on now?
I am currently working on compliance reporting, an article for the HR newsletter, as well as several employee relations situations.
What is important about your work?
My work is important because HR helps maintain a happy, compliant, and effective workplace.
What are the best aspects about your current job?
The best aspect of my job is that no day is ever the same! As the HRBP for DC Metro region, I have a variety of duties – onboarding, compliance reporting, and employee relations are just a few!
Why do you enjoy working at MIL?
I enjoy working and interacting with the employees, supervisors/managers, and the executive teams. MIL has the best people!
What is the most challenging project you have worked on at MIL?
Before I came to MIL, I had not worked on an entire affirmative action plan. I was only responsible for a small portion of the data that was involved. MIL offered the opportunity and training to work on the entire plan. The initial plan was challenging, and at times frustrating, but now I enjoy the entire process!
What is the best piece of career advice you can offer someone in your field who is either applying to or beginning a career at MIL?
The best piece of advice I can offer is to treat people like you would want to be treated and learn something new every day!
